Hi everyone,

The LEMX is now in production :slight_smile:
This watch is something we all know about now but it’s now available and with some enhancements since we had the pre-prod samples. There has been a lot hype and some misleading statements about it so here we go:

Since we got those pre-prod samples a few weeks ago, a lot of work has been done to improve heat dissipation (a graphene heat sink is now in place inside the watch), water resistance and signal quality. The user interface has also been tweaked with many improvements to improve usability and speed.

This watch is the first of it’s kind and will be a game changer for many of us. Running Android 7.1, 1gb ram, 16gb storage, a large LPTS LCD HD screen, 900mah battery, full LTE call support, changeable straps (a leather and TPU strap are both included in the box) and fast charge support.

The screen does indeed look big, but I can assure you - once you have worn it and used it - you will find it strange using the regular 400x400 display of the regular watches.
There is a “flat tyre” are at the bottom of the screen. This is to accommodate the screen controller chip as this is an edge to edge screen. I have attached a photo of the screen assembly for understanding. Again - it is amazing how quickly you adjust to this. Custom watch faces work perfectly fine on this watch and some are more suited than others - a matter of personal taste I think.

I like the look of it, especially because theres almost no bezel.
But the ‘flat tyre’ is a dealbreaker for me.

@Bert_van_de_Bovenkamp I thought the same when I first saw it but after using it, I have to say - it’s not a problem - but that’s my personal opinion. The other team members who have it also may have an opinion.
For me it became “unnoticeable” after a very short time. I guess my mind just “accepted it”

@Pablo_Eleven_Pablo11 I think when you stick to watchfaces with a black background it’s not as noticable.
I will follow this threat to see how people like it. :wink:

I have experienced the same thing as @Pablo_Eleven_Pablo11 in getting used to the large size and totally not seeing the flat tyre anymore. Here’s another thing that’s actually really cool about the flat tyre.Try bringing up the keyboard. It rests nicely just above the black area and doesn’t have keys choked up against a round bottom. Ever try and hit the period and get the space bar instead on a round watch? Won’t happen here. This is the easiest keyboard I’ve ever used on a round smartwatch. Oh, and if you want to see how various watch faces look that take advantage of the flat tyre, or and least integrate well with it, check out the new video I posted. I went through about 750 old clockskin designs from our G+ Community and about 10% flow well on the LEMX.

Nah still a no go for me. The flat tire may destroy the whole esthetic of a watchface who was thought to be a whole circle and was designed as that. I ll wait until they come up with a solution. Greets

It really is difficult to describe to people. It’s something that you can only realise after wearing the watch for a while…
Especially if you are a face designer like you are…

If anyone is interested in seeing what the flat tyre is like, download an app called Simple Control Navigation bar_v2.5.3 Virgo - it give a similiar effect.
Set the icon size to zero, control thickness to about 2/5 (see picture) and horizontal control bar to max and the colour to solid black. Will give you a chance to use it for a few days to see if it will bug you.
