Hi everyone, just thought I’d show you my Hope with 3rd party Nato style band. I fitted heavy duty 2mm x 22mm Fatboy pins to secure the watch and as far as I can see everything works. Phone calls, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth all working fine. Yep I’m sacrificing the heart rate monitor and you need to pull through a strap to charge (takes two seconds - pins stay in) but for being a flash sod I think it’s great. I’ve made the face myself but have not posted it as Mondaine are notoriously on their legal game.
straps are replaceable what do you mean about HR?

Hi Sophie,
Nato straps go fully underneath the watch blocking the HR sensor. The upside is that if one pin detaches the watch stays on your wrist

I would like to make sure that people understand that any watch strap of the correct size will work on this watch.
So if you find a really nice strap that you like you can use it
Always remember that you will need the strap pogo pins though - the stock ones will not work with regular straps because of the key latch.
Just make sure you get new pins when you buy your straps
Personally I do not recommend metal straps on any of these watches because it MIGHT interfere with the internal antennas.
I say might because it is unknown. Time will tell…

You’re absolutely right. Pins were added to this belt. (and even a tool)
I also thought about the antennas. I’m not experiencing any deterioration yet.
A tiny thing: I had to cut my hair off my wrist, because it tore the strap.
Just bought the same strap like you Robert, and i am also bought a leather strap similar to kospet strap and the common leather strap … hope the metal strap didn’t make the watch tear off … by the way i have small wrist and luckily i have no hair in arms like you Robert, so i didnt need to cut any jokes …

It’s not 24 mm actually. I bought a steel band from a store in my town but it didn’t fit the watch. Its 23.5 mm and you need to fix it. The best band for the hope is steel band because of the ceramic frame on the watch.
@mnaughn12 Mate, that is one seriously classy band! I collect wrist watches and I wouldn’t mind putting that on a couple I have. Could you let me know where you purchased it? Cheers, Doons
